"Bella Nova Boutique began with the creative talents of Melissa Colley. Stationed in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband Jim, a Navy Submarine Officer, they welcomed their oldest daughter Sarah into their family. While enjoying the typical day at home, the sound of fading “squeaks” from Sarah shoes alerted her of Sarah’s escape from the house. That day “squeaky shoes” became a staple item in Sarah’s closet and held a small but note worthy place in the growing Colley household.
It wasn’t until their daughter Bella Nova was born that the true passion for these shoes began. Bella, born with Hypotonia, required physical therapy to meet the milestones most children do automatically. At the age of 18 months Bella became the inspiration behind Bella Nova Squeaky Shoes when she was able to take her first steps earning the rewarding “squeaks” from her squeaky shoes.
