cause I saw it first! maybe...probably...not really?

I was reading VIVI magazine the other day...a Japanese magazine, looks like this:

I love japanese magazines because they have the latest fashion trends and incredibly stylish clothing! many of my insperation comes from VIVI, and this outfit was....well...pretty much from the magazine..but hey, it was my first semi-do-it-yourself outfit!

here is what I saw on the magazine..and I remembered this boring checkered farmer shirt that was collecting dust in the back of my closet, and I thought, HEY WITH THAT, I COULD MAKE THIS (below)!

I took the shirt (which I bought from winners) and cut the hem and sewed it! so here it is! and it looks cute, and the short hem shirts are very "in" rite now, Try it !

hair change = make-up change!!!

    drastic change? bring it!!

have you had those moments when you just feel like a CHANGE? change in look or change in SOMETHING
well I did, and I wanted a brand new look! I always had long dyed brown hair...but last year I decided to dye it back to....BLACK, my hair color at birth. It was to mark the start of taking life more seriously, whether that be my goals, or my ambitions......but.........
    WHAT WAS I THINKING!
     so what did I do?

    CHOPPED it and COLORED IT!!!!!

jacket: talula / top: club monaco / cardi: silence and noise  / jeans: american eagle / hat: urban outfitters / jewelry and shoes: aldo / purse: vintage

oh ya and new hair color MEANS NEW MAKE-UP
    DROOOOLLLLL

so here are my new colors, WARM TONES, with that olive color that I'm obsessed with rite now.....
    as you can see above....

I love creating your own pallet <3 I bet a lot of you already know this, but for those who don't, at MAC make-up you can pick out your own colors for an eyeshadow pallet!!! You can buy shadows in a disc format and all you do is pop it in the pallet (you buy the pallet only 7 dollars and the eyeshadow discs are cheaper than the single packaged ones...trust me it's a better deal) YOU CAN ALSO keep on changing the color pallet, great for seasonal changes...less clutter on ur make-up table AND great for travelling! so next time you go to MAC, I say do this instead!!!

who says rips and holes can't look good?

this was one of those fashion miracle moments....

I actually got this black knit sweater from Japan, and I didn't try it on because in Japan I find the shopping atmosphere really intimidating, people hound you and ALL the clothes are designed for small, very slender girls...and I'm practically a monster over there (cause I'm kinda tall)
SO I just bought stuff that were like....very loose fitting, that casual look...something that would FIT ME FOR SURE!!!!
BUT UHHH...... when I got back to my hotel, I tried it on and it was this over sized sweater with no shape....it actually made me look BIGGER! DANG! so I went to return it.........but Japan ain't very friendly about those things...and it was a no go....so money went down the drain........... boo hoo.

so back to Van, and I gave it to my little sister...and maybe the wear and tear of this sweater  kind of DE-PUFFED it..and one random day, I decided to try it on again.....and to my surprise it looked GOOD! crazy! And so I STOLE IT BACK, HAPPY GALORE!!!

a bad situation SAVED....and so I introduce to you....
    MY FASHION-MIRACLE-SWEATER!
    done deal mangs!

Devil wears PRADA.............IN PINK!

I got my inspiration from the movie "devil wears Prada".
I swear after that movie, when the word Prada was mentioned you'd think of a sexy but devilish image (well the poster) and so I'm gonna defy that by an opposite image with softer colors and small detailing to make you look more angelic? K, that definitely was not the word to explain it, k maybe cute would be a better choice of words.
ANYWHO since PINK in all shades are classic spring colors, that steered my look into this direction.

love at first sight, my Prada

the color is a bit washed out, it is actually more of a creamy pink, hence the picture in the corner!

DETAIL in an outfit is what makes an outfit truly ORIGINAL

numero one: the PINK BOW in my hair! (F21 Japan)

numero two: my CUPCAKE necklace! (Betsy Johnson)

Accessories you can go crazy with and get away with it!
From the small details, a.k.a bow hair clip, cupcake necklace and floral tank the outfit isn't just a CUTE outfit but  cute-CHIC and with the Prada shoes, cute-chic-ELEGANT<3

cardi: silence and noise from Urban Outfitters / tank: talula

    numero three: LIP COLOR

Hey  make-up is an accessory too! so with this outfit here's some PINKs that goes! light for day and brighter for night!
I have super small, thin and pale lips so it is hard for me to pull off bright colors, even when I have simple eye make-up, hence my brightest pink ain't really that bright. Also I know there are many many MANY pinks out there so I say go explore, but heres what looks good on me!!(I put two sets of lighting)

    Indoor lighting:

    Outdoor lighting:

and here are the lipstick/gloss brands:

    bright ----- light

Lacome color fever #312 lipstick with Candy doll gloss(japan)
Lavshuca lipstick(japan) with Shu Uemura PK 33S gloss
Dior Addict High Shine #260 with Bourjois Max. 3D shine #62 gloss
YSL Rouge Volupte  #2 lipstick with Chantecaille Mirth gloss

When I wear lipstick, I hafta finish off with a lip gloss, its like the cherry on top, it just doesn't look the same without it!

TIP: if you want the TRUE color of the lipstick, get some concealer to take down your original lip color! I use a "lip concealer" but regular foundation or concealer will do!

I would love to hear what kinda detailing you do to your outfit!!!

woke up late? that's okay, just wear more!!!!

I woke up late this morning, and was like! AHHH NO TIME TO LOOK PRETTY!!!the question for everyone is, how can you take that situation and still pull off a cute look that seems like you put some time into it?

THE KEY IS LAYERING!!I mean it may only work during the fall/winter time...but even though it is spring....it feels like fall. SO this trick will do for at least a good month! come to think of it, the whole concept of layering is great for seasonal transitions.......hm.....
K back to layering.. what I mean by that is...

for a professional look:  wear a sheer shirt then wear an opened up sheer blouse/dress shirt then wrap a silk scarf around your neck and top that off with a trench jacket or blazer. This is better than just wearing a dress shirt and pants. It actually will feel more comfortable since you will have a cotton shirt on first before you have your structured dress shirt. If you don't have a scarf then spice it up by wearing a shirt that is colorful. If you always wear neutrals, then one day just take a coral sheer shirt (maybe from club monaco) and then a white crisp dress shirt then a beige or grey blazer! and the real cherry on top would be to add a floral scarf! Can you envision this? TRY IT! I swear it will work!

for more of a casual look: similar idea as the above, but you can get WAY more creative!!! anything goes when you layer, BUT what will be real HOT this spring is stripes on floral, solid neons with neutrals and even socks with heels. Ya, this spring many opposites will be put together such as, fabric with leather on boots and shoes. Yes, so today I put together real quickly an outfit, that layers a tank top, with a sheer blouse and then a sweater, with sockies that go beyond my fabric/leather boots!

    introducing my doggie, GUS!

floral tank: talula / sheer blouse: H & M / school girl cardi: Japan / shorts: ZARA / eternity scarf: Japan/ belt and sox: H & M / booties: Aldo / bag: balenciaga

since you can't see my layering in my outfit, here is a close up! and I had to take a pic of the pattern of my shorts! SO CUTE! and I got these on sale, at ZARA for $15!

thanks for stopping by! I'd love to hear ur thoughts! :)

oversized Tees on the sales rack! THAT is where it's AT!!

Who doesn't like the sale rack/table at ur favori shop? actually it is a luv hate kinda thing, I know because for me at least I browse and on countless occasions I find myself luv'n sumthin, BUT it's a size or two or even THREE too big for me. *whimper* but I found this tee, that I couldn't let go and it dawned on me...uhh what are the trends these days? over-sized everything (tastefully! no frumpy business plz) and though this method (that I will show you now) won't apply for every style, it sure did in this case....and you ask why?
    take a look :

here we have a cute tee, that can easily match well with leggings or some skinnies

but did you know this tee is actually from:
    and a size:

that's rite, I got an XL tee it in the sale rack for $10 at american eagle, who knew AE still had it!
but some key pointers to watch out for! you can't just get any ordinary not-ur-size-Tee! You can only get away with it IF it has a "V" neck, just cause then the attention goes there instead of the seaming on the shoulders that shows it ain't actually your size! (wear a cute bando if ur a bit busty, but if not the low cut "V" looks very euro-chic)
ALSO! try to find tees that have only design and no logos and minimal writing, best when it looks vintage and a bit rugged.

    NOW FOR AN OUTFIT:
