cause I saw it first! maybe...probably...not really?

I was reading VIVI magazine the other day...a Japanese magazine, looks like this:

I love japanese magazines because they have the latest fashion trends and incredibly stylish clothing! many of my insperation comes from VIVI, and this outfit was....well...pretty much from the magazine..but hey, it was my first semi-do-it-yourself outfit!

here is what I saw on the magazine..and I remembered this boring checkered farmer shirt that was collecting dust in the back of my closet, and I thought, HEY WITH THAT, I COULD MAKE THIS (below)!

I took the shirt (which I bought from winners) and cut the hem and sewed it! so here it is! and it looks cute, and the short hem shirts are very "in" rite now, Try it !

woke up late? that's okay, just wear more!!!!

I woke up late this morning, and was like! AHHH NO TIME TO LOOK PRETTY!!!the question for everyone is, how can you take that situation and still pull off a cute look that seems like you put some time into it?

THE KEY IS LAYERING!!I mean it may only work during the fall/winter time...but even though it is spring....it feels like fall. SO this trick will do for at least a good month! come to think of it, the whole concept of layering is great for seasonal transitions.......hm.....
K back to layering.. what I mean by that is...

for a professional look:  wear a sheer shirt then wear an opened up sheer blouse/dress shirt then wrap a silk scarf around your neck and top that off with a trench jacket or blazer. This is better than just wearing a dress shirt and pants. It actually will feel more comfortable since you will have a cotton shirt on first before you have your structured dress shirt. If you don't have a scarf then spice it up by wearing a shirt that is colorful. If you always wear neutrals, then one day just take a coral sheer shirt (maybe from club monaco) and then a white crisp dress shirt then a beige or grey blazer! and the real cherry on top would be to add a floral scarf! Can you envision this? TRY IT! I swear it will work!

for more of a casual look: similar idea as the above, but you can get WAY more creative!!! anything goes when you layer, BUT what will be real HOT this spring is stripes on floral, solid neons with neutrals and even socks with heels. Ya, this spring many opposites will be put together such as, fabric with leather on boots and shoes. Yes, so today I put together real quickly an outfit, that layers a tank top, with a sheer blouse and then a sweater, with sockies that go beyond my fabric/leather boots!

    introducing my doggie, GUS!

floral tank: talula / sheer blouse: H & M / school girl cardi: Japan / shorts: ZARA / eternity scarf: Japan/ belt and sox: H & M / booties: Aldo / bag: balenciaga

since you can't see my layering in my outfit, here is a close up! and I had to take a pic of the pattern of my shorts! SO CUTE! and I got these on sale, at ZARA for $15!

thanks for stopping by! I'd love to hear ur thoughts! :)

modernized parachute pants = Harem pants?

I know, I know Harem pants have been around for a while now, and it had its big break last year.....but till recently I had called them modernized parachute pants...because it was obvious that the original template for these so called Harem pants were the parachute pants from the late 70's! but google saved me from potential embarrassment and taught me that it wasn't called that anymore.....

getting back on topic!! I was super iffy on them for the longest time....a.) cause I'm a bit wide on the lower half of my body and I didn't want to accentuate the unflattering parts of myself and b.) last year when it first hit the stores in Canada, I was a bit chicken to start the trend reason stated in "a.)", even though it had already made its debut in asia and the states long ago.

but I was totally in the closet about how much I loved these pants! how it pairs up with absolutely every colored blazer and with the right outfit, gives off this elegant look that I'm obsessed with! so since last year I have been going to many, many, MANY stores and trying on gazillion pairs of different shaped Harem BUT always had no luck....it just DID NOT WORK....AND JUST when I was going to GIVE UP.....couple days ago, I went into H & M and found one. I tried it on practically with my eyes closed and peaking through one eye to look at myself in the mirror....that was how nervous I was.....(all those failed attempts to find the perfect Harem pant had scared me)  BUT to my SURPRISE it didn't look too shabby, and for $30, I was SOLD! but after doing this shoot, maybe it was the pants or how it fit on me but I couldn't help but think, no matter how much they claim they modernized the style of these so called "Harem pants" I think in my mind it will always be parachute pants.......

Nonetheless! I put together an outfit with these Harem Pants:

blazer: Smythe / top: Zara / freshwater pearls: gift from China / HAREM PANTS :) H & M / shoes: Luxury Rebel from holts / bag: miu miu

NOW my question IS, was it hard for you guys to find the perfect HAREM PANTS?
