the natural need is to talk about the lack of galliano at the christian dior rtw autumn/winter 2011-2012. but i will leave that where it is, its sad on so many levels and i would rather talk about the fashion than the goss.. what there was no lack of this season was fabric...velvet, fur, felt, suede, leather, silk and a touch of chiffon...there was an old world feeling, like a month in the life of a 1920s lady or a high class 1960s groupie...the outfits were equipped with accessories and accoutrement that i believe are missing in today's life, full length cloaks, fur shrugs, large brimmed hats, and fur laced arm cuffs... and who can live without knee length crocodile print boots...The colors were right on trend, rich deep and jewel toned or perfectly muted pinks and grays. i love this collection, its pretty without giving me a sweet tooth...there seemed to be a dimension missing somewhere...but overall i would wear ever piece every day...if it wasn't so damn hot in australia in autumn
